Vision is the most highly valued sense. The objective of the program is to train and develop a primary healthcare provider who examines and help in treatment and management of disease and disorder in human visual system. Successful candidates will be able to prescribe glasses and contact lenses, rehabilitating the visually impaired and diagnosing & treating ocular disease. They will be able to provide general eye & vision care. They may work in general practices like contact lenses, geriatrics, low vision service, paediatrics, sports vision or vision therapy. Others may choose advance optometric education to perform scientific research.
