bachelor of ayurvedaBachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery (BAMS) is a graduate degree course in Ayurvedic system. This degree is awarded after the completion of 5 years and 6 month degree programme containing the 4 and 1/2 year academic session and one year internship programme with live practical.

The UG degree course is separated in three sections of 1.5 years each. These sections called as the three professional courses.


Aims & Objectives:

The course aims at providing basic education in Ayurveda leading to the degree of B.A.M.S. It aims at preparing graduates of profound scholarship in the science of Ayurveda having basic and fundamental knowledge in different subjects of Ayurveda backed up by extensive practical training. He/ She should become an efficient teacher, a research scholar and a competent Ayurvedic physician and surgeon to be able to contribute his mite in the medical and health services of the Country.

Must have passed higher secondary school certificate examination after 12 years of schooling with physics, chemistry and biology subjects.


Qualifying age:

Must have completed 17 years as on 31st December of year of admission to the main course.
